Saint Minas Church

The Saint Minas Church, or the Church of Saint Stephen the Protomartyr, is an Armenian Apostolic Church built in 1675 in the village of Khoznavar in the Syunik Province of Armenia. The church is in a semi-ruined state. The church is constructed from local roughly hewn stone. It is a three-nave, gable-roofed basilica. The entrance is located on the south side. The piers and barrel vaults are built from finely dressed basalt, while the roof is made of split stones. The northern wall is attached to the rock, while the southern and western walls are destroyed. The walls incorporate khachkars and tombstones from the surrounding old cemetery. Above the entrance to the sanctuary is a basalt khachkar dated 1563. The church measures 20.3 meters in length and 13.75 meters in width.
